Dear Readers: I would like to ask your opinion about my boyfriend and my boyfriend’s government. It seems that his government follows him everywhere. If I were to marry him, will his government follow me too?
My friends tell me that if I have a bank account with my boyfriend (or maybe later, husband), that his government will want to look into our bank account. They say that, if I have a bank account with my boyfriend, that my government will start looking into my bank account too.
What is it with American men and their government?
They say that if I marry this guy, live in my own country, and share our house and our economy, that his government wants to know about our house and our economy. They say that his government would then want not only his money but my part of the money and house too.
I see what they mean. My boyfriend uses up our together-time on the computer–reading and trying to communicate with his government. But they don’t listen to him. So, all he does is read and write and complain about the Democrats that passed FATCA and the Administration that dug up some old bad FBAR law and made it even worse.
At night, he’s on the computer and it seems that his government is in bed with me. In the morning, he is sending emails to his government while we drink coffee. Do I need to set an extra place at the table for his government?
I have planned for a vacation for a month now, and he hasn’t even yet looked for tickets or a hotel. He says he’s busy on the computer, trying to save his “a_s from getting bankrupted by his government”.
Would I want to marry into this man’s government?
I had thought this guy was really cool, dressed nice, was honest, a good talker, and had a good job. How was I to know that his government is such a Loser?
Years ago, my big sister told me that I should go for the Italian boys for a fling, the French men for an affair, and an American man to settle down and marry. Things must have changed.
What do you think, should I dump this guy so as to keep his government out of my family?
( psssst-the writing is (mostly) fiction in the feminine words of another , but don’t let any non-fiction stand in the way of your comments or advice )
